Doctor Who: Fractured Realities is a high-concept, character-driven audio drama set in an alternate branch of the Whoniverse - a reality strained by the consequences of the Flux, the secrets of the Timeless Child, and a cosmos stretched past its breaking point.
This is a Doctor forged in the aftermath of catastrophe.
A Doctor who heals rather than conquers.
A Doctor faced with a universe that is quietly, steadily, and terrifyingly unravelling.
It is not a reboot.
It is not a parody.
It is an original narrative exploring what happened next - long after the cameras stopped rolling.
The 17th Doctor
A gentle scientist-poet trying to hold a collapsing universe together.
This Doctor is a softer, quieter incarnation.
Introspective. Warm. Brilliant.
Wounded by the damage reality has taken - and what is has taken from him.
He travels with:

Rowan Hale - A former UNIT officer turned field scientist. Disciplined, resilient, and deeply principled. Her scientific training and UNIT experience give the Doctor a grounded human anchor - she analyses what he feels, stabilises what he refuses to confront, and pushes truth to the surface even when reality tries to hide it

Cael Morgan - The self-titled "Thinning Hunter." Rejected repeatedly by UNIT, he hacked their systems from his bedroom and built his own Thinning-tracking tech. A reckless fanboy with heart, talent, and more courage than experience - but exactly the chaotic brilliance the Doctor occasionally needs.
Together, they navigate a universe where memory, matter, identity, and time itself are becoming unreliable.
The Thinning
The universe is breaking. Not loudly. Not spectacularly. Quietly.
After the Flux tore the cosmos apart, the universe didn't heal - it frayed.
The Thinning is the slow, creeping erosion of everything:

Cassandra Rennick & RDI
A politician-turned-scientist with the ego of a monarch and the budget of a nation.
Cassandra Rennick is sharp, powerful, and dangerously ambitious.
She self-funded the creation of RDI - private research and surveillance agency created to "protect humanity from anomalous events."
In practice?
RDI acts as a rival to UNIT: corporate, militaristic, and willing to push past moral boundaries if the results justify it.
Cassandra sees the Thinning as an opportunity.
Humanity's weakness.
And her ascension.
The Pantheon of Discord
They are not metaphors, not illusions, not "cosmic ideas", not "fragments of the universe" and not "manifested concepts."
They are gods - ancient, powerful, sentient, capricious, and bound by the same rules that governed the Toymaker.
They exist in the hollows beneath the universe, in domains shaped by their nature.
They feed on play, challenge, rules, games, riddles, and the psychological domains they each rule.
And - critically - like the Toymaker:
They are bound by Fair Play.
When the Doctor asks: "How do I defeat you?"
They must answer.
They cannot lie.
But they can twist.
They can obscure.
They respond in riddles shaped by their domain - fear, doubt, spite, disaster, malice, mischief, misery, skin, shame, secrets.
And once defeated within the rules of their own game, they are banished from the universe entirely.
