The 17th Doctor

"A gentle scientist in a collapsing universe."
Introspective, warm, quietly witty - this Doctor has stepped out of the regeneration fire more human than he expected. He isn't a warrior. Not anymore. He's a guide, a listener, a scientist-poet trying to help a damaged universe remember how to hold itself together.

Unit Officer - Field Scientist - Reluctant Hero
Rowan is sharp, driven, and grounded - a UNIT officer whose instinct is to always run towards danger rather than away from it. After losing people to Thin Zone events, she has committed herself to understanding them.
She doesn't follow the Doctor blindly - she challenges him, anchors him, and calls him out when he retreats into himself.

Why she matters:

Cael Morgan

Self-titled "Thinning Hunter." UNIT fanboy. Absolute wildcard.
Cael is clever, obsessive, enthusiastic - and a menace to firewalls across the world.
UNIT turned him down five times.
So he built his own tracking network in his bedroom, hacked parts of UNIT's system, rewrote them, and now predicts Thin Zone breaches with frightening accuracy.
He is not a prodigy.
He is not chosen.
He is simply someone who refused to give up.

He isn't a replacement.
He isn't a clone.

Born out of the first Flux tear - a being who moves through memory, causality, and narrative cracks like fabric.
The Threadwalker speaks in riddles, melodies, and cryptic warnings. They break the fourth wall. They speak to the audience. They know what's coming long before the Doctor does.

The Threadwalker is Fractured Realities' most mysterious character - and the lynchpin of the series mythology.
Cassandra Rennick
Former politician. Now head of RDI. Dangerous in all the wrong ways.
Cassandra is brilliant, ruthless, visionary.
She left politics after realising the universe was breaking - and built RDI (Reality Defence Initiative) using her own money, influence, and fear.
She is not a villain.
She is not a hero.
She is a woman who refuses to let the universe fall apart again -
even if it means controlling the people inside it.

Why she's compelling:

The Pantheon of Discord
Actual gods. Actual dangers. Bound by rules older than the universe.
As established in RTD2 canon, the Pantheon are not metaphors - they are genuine gods who exist in the hollows beneath reality.
They thrive on games, riddles, bargains, and cruelty disguised as play.
The Doctor can only defeat them by following their riddles.
